My Top Products For Cold & Flu Season

We all do our best to stay well during cold and flu season but inevitably at some point someone in your house is going to catch something. It's always better to have what you need on hand already then having to scramble and buy or make it when you need it in my opinion so today I am sharing my top product picks for cold and flu season. All of these products are all natural and very effective and a little goes a long way so you won't have to be constantly restocking them.

Here is a little more information on each product and how I use it:

  1. Thieves Hand Sanitizer - I think this one is pretty self explanatory:). Hand sanitizer is a great preventive measure against illness. Anytime you are touching surfaces that other people have also been touching, and you don't have access to washing your hands, it's time to break out the hand sanitizer. The Thieves hand sanitizer kills 99.9% of germs but doesn't contain any harsh chemicals and has a fresh peppermint scent from the essential oil used in it.

  2. Thieves Household Cleaner - This cleaner is great because it is plant based and contains essential oils like clove, cinnamon, lemon, rosemary and eucalyptus which have a host of anti fungal, anti microbial and anti bacterial properties between them and can be used on all surfaces.

  3. Thieves Chest Rub - This product has gone through all the requirements to be considered an over the counter medicine and is a must have for any time you have any sort of respiratory issues going on. Just place a small amount on your fingertips and rub on your chest and/or back to help relieve congestion. If you like to DIY your own recipes, I have a good diy option you can make as well. You can find the full recipe and instructions here.

  4. Thieves Cough Drops - These are my go to drops anytime I have a cough or sore throat. I like that they aren't loaded down with dyes and sugar and with the essential oils in them they work great to soothe your chest and throat.

  5. Breathe Again Roll On - This roll on is one of my favorite premade options. It contains Copiaba, Myrtle, Peppermint and four different types of Eucalyptus so it is a real powerhouse for anything respiratory related. I like to put a little under my nose when I am stuffy. You get pretty immediate relief. It's also great when you are flying if you are anything like me and tend to end up with a clogged up head from breathing in on that recirculated air. You can also roll this blend on your chest or back for more severe symptoms.

  6. Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil - This is my favorite of all the different Eucalyptuses that are available. It works great for respiratory support and has anti inflammatory properties as well. I like to diffuse this oil when I am not feeling great as well as sprinkle it on the walls of my shower anytime I am congested. I feel like the scent of the Globulus is much milder than that of the Radiata and Blue and doesn't become so overpowering like the other varieties can.

  7. Orgegano Essential Oil -Oregano is an amazing oil not only for immune support but also great to use internally when you have already started to feel under the weather. I place 1 to 2 drops in a veggie capsule along with a carrier oil and take twice a day anytime I am not feeling my best(not a doctor, just sharing what I do and have found to be effective). When using Oregano for immune support, I typically do a combination of 10 drops Thieves, 3 drops Orgeano, 3 drops Pine and 3-5 drops lemon in a 10ml roller bottle along with a carrier oil. I then roll it on the back of my neck and down my spine 2x daily. Also please be sure that you are ALWAYs reading the label of your essential oil brand to see if it is considered safe for internal use(All of Young Livings Vitality line are considered safe to use internally). If the oils is not marked for internal use then you should not ingest it.

  8. Thieves Essential Oil Blend - This blend is well known for it's respiratory and immune support capabilities and is the basis for the majority of the products I have mentioned above. It is a powerful combination of essential oils with anti microbial, anti fungal, anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties and is a must have in your oily arsenal. Some of my favorite ways to use this blend is to diffuse it with either orange or lavender, add 1 to 2 drops along with a drop of lemon and a tsp of honey to a mug of warm water to help soothe a sort throat and I use it in the immune support roller recipe I mentioned above every day.

I hope these recommendations help you find some relief next time you or someone in your family is under the weather and that it brings you peace of mind knowing all of these products are natural, safe and free of harmful chemicals. ❤️
