DIY Natural Fabric Spray

Updated: Jul 18, 2021

Today I am going to be sharing how you can make an all natural and affordable fabric spray. I think everyone wants their house to smell nice and a big part of having a nice smelling home is keeping all of the different fabric surfaces in your home smelling good. Many of the traditional linen/fabric sprays can be made up of mostly synthetic fragrances making it hard to find a clean, plant based option. You can actually make an all natural linen spray yourself with minimal time and cost that will still leave your house smelling nice and best of all you will know exactly what is in it. For this project you will need a two 2oz glass spray bottles(preferably dark in color), witch hazel, distilled water. You will also need Bergamot, Orange and Lime essential oils for the first spray I am sharing and Lavender, Cedarwood and Vanilla for the second spray.

For the first linen spray, we are going to be using a refreshing citrus blend. First, you will take your 2oz spray bottle and add in a Tablespoon of witch hazel. Make sure it is a fragrance free witch hazel such as the one I linked above. Next you will add in 10 drops each of Bergamot, Lime and Orange essential oils. Not only do these oils smell fresh and clean, but they also are considered to help uplift your mood. Next you will top off the bottle with distilled water. Give it a shake and it is ready to use. Simply spray on your fabric surfaces or even just into the air of the room that you want to freshen up the smell of. Be sure to shake the bottle up before each use:)

For the next spray, we are going to use a relaxing blend that is perfect for spraying on your sheets and pillows before you climb into bed at night. For this blend, you will use 10 drops Cedarwood, 15 drops Lavender and 5 drops Vanilla essential oil. Just add this blend to the witch hazel and distilled water the same way we did in the previous spray. If you don't have vanilla essential oil, then do 15 each of the Lavender and Cedarwood.

This blend is my favorite combo for helping me relax at night and I always make sure I have a bottle mixed up and ready to go.

There are tons of essential oil blends that you could combine, just as we did the two I shared. Some other great combinations you could try are:

Ylang Ylang and Patchouli

Lime and Clary Sage

Grapefruit and Orange

Nutmeg, Orange and Cinnamon(perfect for fall)

Christmas Spirit and Orange

Geranium

If you end up making this fabric spray, leave a comment with your favorite blend:)
