Your eyes can express so many things, happiness, laughter, anger, disappointment, the list goes on and on. I think this is one of the reasons why for many of us, someones eyes are one of the first things we notice about them.
Today, I am going to be sharing two all natural skincare recipes that focus on your eyes and the areas around them.
The first recipe is a DIY eyelash growth serum. Most women would love to have long full lashes but not everyone is born with them. You see a lot of women who get lash extensions or wear false lashes to achieve this, but both of these can be expensive and damage your actual lashes. My solution to this is to apply an all natural eyelash growth serum each night before I go to bed. The results may not be immediate, like the other two options I mentioned, but they are permanent and won't harm your lashes and don't require you to put any harsh chemicals near your eyes.
For this recipe you will need:
Fill your empty mascara tube 1/2 way with castor oil. This should be around 1 to 1 1/2tsp depending on the size of your tube. Castor oil is well know for it's hair growth benefits and is a thicker oil to help coat your lashes.
Next add in your 1/2 tsp of argan oil and vitamin e oils. Both of these have great benefits for hair health that will also benefit lash growth.
Finally add in your 2 drops each Rosemary, Lavender & Cedarwood essential oils. I picked these oils for their hair growth properties as well as the lavender will help balance out the earthiness of the rosemary and cedarwood essential oils.
Once filled give the tube a shake and it is ready to use. You can also use this serum on your eyebrows if you are needing them to grow in fuller as well.
The second recipe I am going to share is for an under eye roller. With all the expressiveness that goes along with our eyes, it tends to be one of the first areas where those pesky fine lines and wrinkles start to show. To help diminish and prevent those fine lines and wrinkles, I have put together a super simple under eye roller that apply around my eye area as a part of my evening skin care routine.
For this recipe you will need:
A 10 ml roller bottle(I love the ones from Whimsey + Wellness. I have a affiliate link with them that will get you 10% off by clicking here)
Fill your 10ml roller bottle about 3/4 of the way with Evening Primrose oil. This carrier oil is great for aging skin but could also be subbed out for Jojoba or Sweet Almond oil.
Next add in about 1/2 tsp vitamin e oil. Vitamin e is full of antioxidants which can help fight free radical damage and promote cell rejuvenation.
Finally add in your 7-8 drops each Frankincense and Lavender essential oil. Frankincense has a ton of amazing skin properties for fighting fine lines and wrinkles and many people call it the fountain of youth oil. Frankincense is a more pricey oil so if you are looking for a more budget friendly oil you could use Elemi or Myrrh oil instead. They are all in the same family and have similar properties. Lavender soothes skin, promotes healthy cell turnover and can help ease redness. Both of these essential oils are gentle which makes them great for using on the delicate skin around your eyes.
Shake and then your roller is ready to use. Roll around your eye area(avoiding getting in your eyes) each evening. Bonus, Frankincense and Lavender are both very relaxing oils so this roller could double as a sleep support roller. Just roll down your spine or on the bottoms of your feet before bed.
I hope you give these two easy DIYs a try. If you have any questions or comments, share them down below!
